Bringing Your Support to the Front Lines:
Syria’s Druze & Christians
The One Free World International team is back in the Middle East this week to support the Christian and Druze people under attack in Syria.
Over the summer Rev. El Shafie rang the alarm, calling for action to protect them.
OFWI has teams on the ground on both sides of the Israel-Syria border. While the security situation in Suwayda, Syria remains dire, our teams are able to communicate and where possible mobilize humanitarian relief supplies to help provide basic sustenance.
On the Israeli side of the border, the OFWI team visited the Ziv Medical Center just north of the Sea of the Galilee in Safed, Israel. Here the team visited with Druze and Christians evacuated from Syria to receive life-saving care. They also met with Druze families who have relatives on both sides of the Syria-Israel border.
Given how “hot” there area has been, the team were given small firearms to use to protect themselves if conflict broke out.
The team wants to share more about the people recovering in hospital, but we can’t.
Here’s the harsh reality, we cannot show you their faces or detail their story as it will put their lives in danger.
Islamic extremists who have been doing President Ahmed al-Sharaa’s bidding will hunt down their families still in Syria and inflict further pain and suffering on these communities.
Amidst all this darkness, OFWI is doing three things in the region this week:
Offering a hand of hope and support to these communities, praying for their recovery and a lasting peace.
Delivering humanitarian supplies and working with our teams on the ground to best target the support where the need is greatest.
Documenting the atrocities committed so we can raise awareness and fight for justice in the months ahead.
OFWI’s team in Israel and Syria will continue to monitor developments and mobilize support to help the people in dire need where we can.

While we must take precautions to protect the identities of people we met, we wanted to share a few photos from the hospital so you can see for yourself the nature of the violence and wounds people are recovering from:
