The invasion of Ukraine by Russian Armed Forces is devastating.
OFWI’s team in the country have already reported casualties from Russia’s military assault and thousands of civilians have fled to Poland and Moldova where they are seeking refuge.
We remain in constant contact with our team and are quickly assessing where the humanitarian need is greatest as the realities across the country quickly change.
Majed El Shafie led missions to Ukraine in 2016 and 2018, and we remain resolute in our support for the people of Ukraine and their right to live free and in security. We will have more to share in the days ahead.
