Bringing the Truth to Light:

Rev. Majed El Shafie’s Mission to Israel

Earlier this month, Rev. Majed El Shafie, founder of One Free World International (OFWI), returned to Israel to advance his mission of exposing the horrific truths behind the October 7 terrorist attack.

As the lead investigator and driving force behind the documentary Dying to Live, Rev. El Shafie spent the week speaking directly to audiences across the country, sharing his findings, and answering difficult questions about the massacre, the ideology of Hamas, and the broader fight against antisemitism.

The packed itinerary began in Jerusalem, where Rev. El Shafie sat down with the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) on their show Jerusalem Dateline for a candid interview about the ongoing battle to bring Hamas’s crimes to light. Watch the full interview here.

He was also interviewed by Kan 11 for their daily show at the ICEJ, followed by an in-depth discussion with i24News. You can watch the i24News interview here.

Later that day, he recorded a webinar at the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ), which highlighted the global implications of the October 7 attack. You can view the webinar here.

That evening, Rev. El Shafie participated in a special screening of the documentary trailer at the Mishkenot Sha’ananim Auditorium, hosted by ICEJ. The event sparked intense discussions about the rising tide of antisemitism and the global consequences of silence in the face of such evil.

The following days saw Rev. El Shafie engaging with diverse audiences across Israel. At Ben Zvi High School in Kiryat Ono and Begin High School in Ramat Gan, he addressed students and educators, underscoring the importance of truth and justice in defending freedom.

A highlight of the trip was a moving visit to Daliyat al-Karmel, a Druze village, where Rev. El Shafie joined a Beit Yad Labanim memorial event to honor victims of terror and speak about unity in the face of hatred.

Rev. El Shafie also met with faith-based and professional organizations, including Bridges for Peace and the Israel Bar Association, for private screenings and discussions. At the Israel Bar Association event on Thursday, January 16, Rev. El Shafie delivered a powerful lecture alongside distinguished speakers, including:

  • Adv. Amit Bechar, Head of the Israel Bar Association

  • Dr. Adv. Gideon Fisher, Co-Chair of the Forum for International Conflict Resolution

  • Ruth Wasserman Lande, Former Deputy Ambassador of Israel to Egypt

  • Ronen Gil-Or, Former Israeli Ambassador and Special Adviser at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

  • Evi Moses, Chairperson of the Organization for Victims of Hostile Actions

  • Adv. Yonit Kalmanovitz, Director of International Activities

The trip concluded with an evening at the Friends of Zion Museum, where audiences not only viewed the documentary trailer but also heard firsthand about the challenges of investigating Hamas’s atrocities and the cover-up efforts designed to shield their crimes from the world.

Rev. El Shafie’s visit garnered significant media attention, including write-ups in The Jerusalem Post read here and Jewish News Syndicate (JNS) read here, both of which praised the importance of Dying to Live in exposing the truth behind the atrocities.

“Sharing the stories of survivors and those who lost loved ones on October 7 is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. But their courage inspires me every day. They deserve justice, and they deserve to have the world hear their truth. That’s why Dying to Live matters,” said Rev. El Shafie, reflecting on the trip.
