From Ukraine to Canada: Artifacts evidence of war crimes.

Extraordinary Artifacts from the Frontlines

Thank you to OFWI’s friends at Zoomer News for covering the special exhibit.

Last month OFWI held a one-night only exhibit with extraordinary artifacts from the frontlines of Russia’s war on Ukraine.

During OFWI’s #StandWithUkraine mission, Majed and the team were able to recover four (4) fragments of a Russian missile from a civilian residential building that was bombed by the Russians on the outskirts of Lviv, Ukraine. In addition to the missile fragments, a stuffed toy lamb was found abandoned in a child’s bedroom from the bombed apartment building.

This special event took place at Toronto’s historic Gooderham Building and included remarks from OFWI’s Majed El Shafie and special guests: former Member of Parliament Wladyslaw Lizon, renowned Chinese democracy activist Sheng Xue, and former Senator Con Di Nino.

The speakers delivered a message of determination and resiliency, calling on the Canadian and Western government to do more to help Ukraine, hold Russia accountable for its war on Ukraine, and take greater action to defend human rights.

Speakers also drew attention to the fact that as Russia’s war on Ukraine drags on, media attention is starting to fade. The creates greater challenges to educating the public on the realities of the war and the ongoing need for humanitarian support for the people of Ukraine.
