Bringing Truth to the Halls of Power
Last week OFWI spoke up for people on the frontlines of today’s conflicts and for human rights in the halls of power. Visiting the U.S. Government’s State Department, OFWI was joined by Icelandic Member of Parliament Birgir Thorarinsson.
OFWI met with State Department officials including the Ambassador at Large for Global Criminal Justice to discuss:
Azerbaijan’s abuse of human rights and aggression in Armenia and Karabkah
OFWI’s humanitarian work in Ukraine
Supporting Afghan refugees and the unfolding humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan
On-the-ground realities in northern Iraq and Syria where Yazidis continue to live in refugee camps, unable to return home and rebuild their villages
