ACTION ALERT: Intervene to #SaveRahaf

Will you take action to save a young woman at risk of death in Saudi Arabia?

I know the danger I faced for renouncing Islam and converting to Christianity. We must take action to protect a young Saudi woman currently stranded in Thailand.

Rahaf Mohammed al-Qunun is an 18 years old woman who renounced Islam and fled for asylum from her abusive family and Saudi's repressive government.

While her family was on a trip in Kuwait, she fled on route to Australia. While transiting through Thailand, it appears Saudi officials with the help of Thai authorities confiscated her passport and she remains barricaded in a hotel room at the Bangkok airport. There are reports she is now with UNHCR, but the situation remains very fluid.

We have been speaking out on social media and have written the Thai Ambassador in Canada. We have also wrote the Canadian Ambassador in Thailand who let us know she is advocating for her with other ambassadors from allied countries to Thai authorities. Acting on her freedom to renounce Islam has put her life at risk.

Rahaf is guaranteed to face physical abuse and maybe even death if she is deported to Saudi Arabia. We must mobilize to protect her.

TAKE ACTION

1. Contact the Thai embassy in Canada, the United States, or United Kingdom.

Tell them everyone has the right to freedom of religion and that they need to allow Rahaf safe passage to protect her life and uphold her human rights.

2. Share this Facebook Post and this Tweet with your networks and use the #SaveRahaf hashtag.

We will continue to update OFWI supporters on the efforts of our campaign. This is your chance to make a difference and be a voice for the voiceless.

Sincerely,
