Huma Younus is a 15 year old girl. Over a year ago, she was kidnapped in Pakistan, raped by her captor, and forced to marry him. Working directly with Huma’s mother, a group of Canadian organizations have formed the Huma Younus Rescue Mission Coalition to advance her case in the Pakistani court system, secure her freedom, and see justice served.

While news from the region has slowed and territory once claimed by ISIS has been reclaimed, the destruction from the conflict left behind a great need for humanitarian relief efforts as Yazidis look to rebuild from this genocide.
Over 3,000 Yazidi women and girls remain unaccounted for. Many remain enslaved in Iraq and Syria, while others have been trafficked to other countries.
Following a reconnaissance trip to the region earlier this spring, Majed El Shafie will lead an OFWI Iraq-Syria Mission for Summer 2019.
The objectives of this OFWI Summer 2019 Iraq-Syria Mission are:
Deliver medical & food supplies to 5 Refugee Camps in Iraq & Syria
Continue rescue operations of enslaved Yazidi women and girls
