Iran Deal: Washington Mission Update

On September 15-17 Rev. Majed El Shafie led a One Free World International delegation to Washington, D.C. to draw attention to the systemic human rights abuses in Iran and to oppose the bad P5+1 Iranian Nuclear Deal. Sept 16th Testimony of Rev. El Shafie at The National Press Club in Washington, DC (2)Rev. El Shafie released a report titled: The Iranian Nuclear Agreement: A Tragic Mistake that Must Be Avoided, which details the Deal's failings, documents Iranian human rights violations, and focusses on the need to maintain international pressure on the regime to reform.

The delegation met with Members of Congress and their offices, attended the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa's hearing on the Major Beneficiaries of the Iran Deal: IRGC and Hezbollah, and held a press conference at the National Press Club. OFWI believes the U.S. government has made a grave mistake in moving forward with the implementation of this bad deal and will fight to maintain international pressure on the Iranian regime to end the persecution and respect human rights.

Upcoming Action

OFWI will continue to fight for what is right. Western nations must remain vigilant in monitoring the regimes actions in light of the sanctions relief Iran is about to receive.

Collaboration with One Free World International partners continues to assess the best tools and strategy for increased awareness of the Iranian human rights abuses and the most effective way to apply pressure on Iran to free its people.

On October 18 OFWI will host a conference "The American - Iranian Nuclear Deal" from 10:30-12:30 in Toronto, Canada at Catch The Fire Church, 272 Attwell Drive.

OFWI will bring Israeli and Jewish leaders as well as former Iranian prisoners and leaders from the Iranian community and minority communities who have suffered torture and persecution at the hands of the Iranian regime, to stand in solidarity to condemn this nuclear deal.
