Historical Event in Israel
Dear Friends and Partners,
Rev. El Shafie has just returned from Israel with news about two very exciting developments. First of all, we are 
pleased to report that Israeli authorities have arrested the man suspected of placing the home-made bomb that almost killed Ami Ortiz at Purim last year. Ami and his family have expressed their relief in knowing that he will not be able to hurt anyone else. Your intervention through your prayers, letters, and signing the petition on Ami’s behalf have been fruitful and we are all very happy to see this matter moving forward.
One Free World International would like to announce that we will not be holding our usual conferences in Canada this year. Instead, we will be holding our first international human rights conference in Israel in mid-December. We will be taking parliamentarians, human rights victims and advocates, and church leaders from Canada and the United States on a mission to Israel where we will be meeting with Israeli leaders and officials and visiting sites with particular significance in the battle for religious freedom and against religious persecution and antisemitism.
This mission will provide an exciting opportunity for us to share with Israeli leaders about violations of religious freedom taking place around the world and to focus together on our common interest in conquering persecution and antisemitism. Your support is critical, either through your prayers or by assisting us in meeting the financial obligations of this mission (donation information is provided below). The world needs to know about our persecuted brothers and sisters and only together can we continue to share their story with those who have not heard.
In light of all this good news, please pray:
• for Ami’s continued healing and recovery, and that through his experiences he would continue to be a living testimony among his people to the love, forgiveness, and mercy of God;
• for Ami’s attacker, that justice would prevail in his case through the Israeli judicial system and that he would come to recognize the evil of his actions and experience the love and forgiveness of God so that he would turn to sharing life and love instead of hatred; and,
• for One Free World International’s Israel mission, that all those who should be there would be able to participate and that we would have a successful and fruitful mission.
Remember that the persecuted Christians are dying every day, but they are still smiling. They are in a very deep dark night, but they have the candle of the Lord. The enemy can have a very strong weapon and a very strong army, but we have the Lord Almighty.
"They can kill the dreamer, but they cannot kill the dream" in the Lord’s name.
