Bahareh has been freed!

Bahareh & Majed at the Manila International Airport following her release from detention.

Good morning friends,

Great news! Bahareh has been freed from custody in Manila!

I write having just safely returned home from Manilla where we secured her release and the life-threatening risk of being deported to Iran has ended. How did this happen?

Bahareh's life was in real danger. We told you she was a dental student and beauty pageant contestant. What we could not say then, but can now, is that Bahareh has also renounced Islam and converted to Christianity.

The Iranian regime was trying very hard to have her deported back to Iran where she would have been sent to prison and risked being executed. Iran manipulated the Interpol system to have her arrested and hoped President Duterte's government would deport her.

But that did not happen. Instead, thanks to our #FreeBahareeh campaign, your support and public pressure led to her release from detention.

For now, Bahareh is in a safe place in the Philippines and we are continuing to work to facilitate her travel to a safe third county. Your voice and support on social media made the difference.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Bahareh is so happy her life has been saved.

When a rogue regime like Iran uses the Interpol system to persecute people beyond its borders, that’s a danger to us all. We will continue our work for justice and human rights and stand by those in their darkest hour.

One Free World International could not do our work without your support and prayers. Please help us make a difference and rescue more women like Bahareh by donating to our organization.

Thank you and God bless,
